Via S. Alessandro 13 – BERGAMO
Elidor, Silvia’s life and a sweet story of happiness
Love for food flows in my blood. For four generations my family has been providing food for its community. My French great grandmother was the cook of the Viscount of Coüasnon de la Barillère, while my Italian grandmother and my parents offered good quality Italian cuisine in their hotel, in Lignano Pineta ( not far from Venice ).
Elidor is the continuation of a proud family tradition where good food has always been at the center of family Life itself.
At six years old I was already in the hotel’s kitchen, and even if confined to a corner, my eyes were free to wander and learn. In Rome, many years later, I went to the Gambero Rosso Cooking School, where I was taught by Michelin Star Chefs that offered me to continue the adventure in their kitchens.
At the time I was working in the Movie Industry and my love for baking had to wait for a couple ofmore years ,until, after working in a five star hotel in Paris, I moved toBirmingham. In England I decided to take my dream and make it happen, opening Elidor.
After 2 years in England and many others of wandering around Europe, I felt homesick and decided to move back. I fell in love with Bergamo at first sight, on a visit to a good friend, and a couple weeks later I had moved here for good.
A couple month later Elidor was reborn in a peaceful and dreamy location (Piazzetta Manzù, a lovely private square), in the pulsing heart of downtown Bergamo.
This is the spirit with which I share my passion with you today, hoping that it will bring as much happiness and sweetness to you as the one I feel while I bake my products.
